Thais França coordinates the SAGE19 project and is currently an integrated researcher at the Centro de Investigação e Estudos do Instituto de Sociologia do ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (CIES, ISCTE-IUL). She has experience in the research area of gender studies, migrations, academic and student mobility, post-colonial studies and social inequalities. She coordinated the Scientific Mobility to and from Portugal: Production and Circulation of Knowledge in Highly-Skilled Immigration (2008-2013) research project funded by FCT. She is an invited assistant professor in the Masters in Labour Sciences and Industrial Relations at ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.

Beatriz Padilla joined the Department of Sociology at the University of South Florida in 2018, after living in Portugal for 16 years, where she was Associate Research Professor at IUL-ISCTE, Associate Professor at the University of Minho and a Senior Research Fellow at CIES-IUL, where she still continues as Researcher. In 2020, she became the Interim Director of the Institute for the Study of Latin America and the Caribbean at USF and the co-chair of the International Migration Section of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA). As a Global Migration Scholar, her work includes immigration, diversity, race/ethnicity, gender, health and public policy. She coordinated several research projects including Transatlantic initiatives GOVDIV (Multilevel Governance of Cultural Diversity in a Comparative Perspective: EU-Latin America).

Filipa Godinho graduated in Sociology at ISCTE-IUL in 2017. In 2019 she completed her Masters in Sociology also at ISCTE-IUL with a dissertation on gender and childhood. Between 2019 and 2020 she participated in the project TRANSRIGHTS - Gender citizenship and sexual rights in Europe: Transgender lives from a transnational perspective. In 2020 she started her PhD in the inter-university program Sociology: Knowledge for Open and Inclusive Societies (OpenSoc). She is currently part of the research team of the SAGE19 project: Scientific and Academic Gender (in) equality during Covid19.

Ana Alexandre Fernandes, holds a PhD in sociology, a specialization in demography, and is a Full Professor at the Lisbon University, Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences. She coordinates the Demography chairs and the MSc courses in Social Gerontology and MSc in Society, Risk and Health. She has coordinated and participated in national and international projects and has developed research work in the areas of demographic ageing, health and gender, and migration. She has national publications such as "Old age and society" (1997), "Demographic issues" (2008) and "The (Re)Form of Reforms" (co-authored) (2016) and international publications such as "Gender disparities in health and health care: results from the Portuguese national health interview survey" (2012), "Gender equity in treatment for cardiac heart disease in Portugal" (2010), or Health and Migration in the European Union: Better Health for all in an inclusive society (2009), or "Developing an approach for research and policies on migration, health and ageing" (2012).

PhD student in Sociology, she has developed research on performance evaluation in higher education teaching careers, as well as in general public administration careers. She also participated in research projects on (in)success and dropout in higher education. Her research interests also integrate gender inequalities in organizational structures, having made a publication on this issue.

Lígia Amâncio graduated in Psychology and Education in Paris VIII and obtained her PhD in Sociology at ISCTE where she made her academic career and became emeritus professor in 2019. Her research interests focus on the construction of gender differences and the discrimination of women at work in high status professions such as science, politics, medicine, the judiciary. Among other research activities she integrated the team responsible for the first survey of the Portuguese scientific community (results published in 1992), participated in the Portuguese research team of the ISSP surveys on Family and Gender in 2004 and 2014 and chaired the Portuguese team of the H2020 Coordination and Support Action SAGE (Systematic Action for Gender Equality, 2016-2019). She was also President of the Commission for Equality and Women’s Rights (1996-1998), member of the European Research Advisory Board (2001-2004) and Vice-President of the Foundation for Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology (2006-2012).
